Unit shoots for troops, crews, ships, and posts provided one adult leader has completed the range safety training available at training.scouting.org
From BB guns, archery, 22 caliber rifles, black powder muzzleloader, shotgun and pistol (Venturing and Sea Scouts only)
All sessions are 3 hours of range time, plus a 30 minute orientation in a camp building using Powerpoint prior to range time. Each session includes all equipment and ammunition and minimum 2 staff members with appropriate certifications.
Unit must provide at least one adult per range at all times and one adult who has completed the Scouting America Range Safety Course. Full payment must be made prior to event. All reservations are subject to staff and facility availability. All activities will conform to Scouting America Range & Target Activities Manual and Guide to Safe Scouting as well as applicable National Rifle Association and National Archery Association standards.
